Do you have patients with a visual tracking problem? Tracking problems are often associated with reading disability. Slow reading, dysfluent reading, reversals of letters or words, words running together, poor reading comprehension, poor visual attention, loss of concentration, and inability to complete assignments or tests in a timely fashion. If there has been a diagnosis of dyslexia, rapid automatized naming deficit, reading potential below ability, ocular motility problems, eye movement disorders, temporal visual processing disability, visual perception dysfunction, then the Perceptual Visual Tracking Program (PVT) may be indicated.

The Perceptual Visual Tracking Program (PVT) is designed to improve specific tracking deficits that are often found in persons with any of the above symptoms. Perceptual visual tracking skills are basic to all aspects of reading and other academic areas. Improvement in tracking is often accompanied by improvement in reading, spelling, attention, and speed of working.

PVT contains a variety of visual tracking programs that have been clinically proven. They are game like in nature so that improvement takes place almost effortlessly. Individuals of all ages from five years up can benefit from PVT. It is a sophisticated yet user-friendly computer application that will run on almost any personal computer. This program may be used with sessions lasting approximately twenty minutes. Your patient will be assigned a protocol that is designed to help ensure their progress. At the end of each therapy session the computer will display their results and record their progress for future review.

  • Rapid Automatized Naming
  • Visual Attention
  • Speed of Visual Processing
  • Orthographic Processing
Using an efficient and large orthographic (visual identification of words) lexicon is necessary for fast and automatic word recognition.
  • Fluency of reading
Assuring a level of accuracy and rate where decoding is relatively effortless; where oral reading is smooth and accurate, with correct rhythm, and where attention can be allocated to comprehension.

Motivational

PTS II presents your patient with a grid that shows the different difficulty levels for each procedure. Each time your patient meets or exceeds a therapy goal they receive a gold star.

The program gives your patient verbal reinforcement. It prompts them to "Get Ready" before a stimulus is presented. PTS II also verbally reinforces correct and incorrect responses. For example, it will encourage them by saying "Good Job" after they input a correct response.
